Community Council Meeting Notes

 

Thursday - March 8, 2024

5:00 PM - School Conference Room

 

  1. Welcome -  Heidi Preston
    1. Attendance: Heidi Preston, Kellie Johnson, Linda Williams, Mallary Winn, Olivia Lott, Sharon Brown, Matt Deamer, Lacee Embleton, Ranel Cox
  2. Minutes Approval - Heidi Preston
  3. Review of Timeline/Due Dates - Heidi Preston
    1. March 8 - Upcoming Plan Due to District
    2. March 12 - Plans Reviewed by District
    3. March 18 - Corrected Plan Due
    4. April 12 - Plans approved by the district board and sent to the state.
  4. Review of Current Plan - Ranel Cox
    1. Mrs. Cox went over a powerpoint presentation that showed the middle of the year scores that relate with the TrustLand goals. 
    2. Goal #1 K - 4rd grade are at 72% for Reading with the goal being 80%.
    3. Goal #2 K - 6th grade are at 47% for Math with the goal being 80%.
    4. Items for next year’s plan - Ranel Cox
      1. Mrs. Cox talked about how they want to continue to focus on Reading and Math next year 
    5. Present upcoming Plan Draft
      1. Mrs. Cox presented the TrustLand plan draft for next year with the goals and budget. 
    6. Discuss and change as needed
      1. No one saw the need for any changes
    7. Approve Plan
      1. The plan was put to a vote
      2. The vote was unanimous with everyone voting to put the plan into place
    8. Complete Council Signature Form
    9. The council signed and dated the Community Council Signature Page. 
  5. Other Items of Business
    1. Matt Deamer has served 2 years on the Community Council and will not serve next year.
    2. Kellie Johnson will no longer have a child attending NOE and  will not serve on Community Council next year.
    3. Mallary Winn has accepted the position of PTA Treasurer and will not serve on Community Council next year. 
  6. Next meeting is Thursday, May 9th at 5:00
    1. It was determined that a meeting will not be held in May unless something comes up and Mrs. Cox will reach out to the Council.
