Community Council Meeting

Sept. 5, 2019 

3:30 Library

Attendance:

Council Members – Brandi Budge, Kellie Johnson, Mike Hipwell, Elysie Eldridge, Mr. Nestoryak, Annette Lewis, Sharon Brown, Jake Burnett

Absent council members - Victoria Mendez, Stuart McCowin, Stacie Berry

Visitors – Amber Jones, Tasia Bruderer, Taycina Brady, Kurliston Braegger

3:34 p.m. Mr. Nestoryak called the meeting to order.
Points of discussion:
• Introductions
• Parent Chair was appointed – Kellie Johnson with Mike Hipwell as Vice-chair. All voted in favor no one was opposed. 
• Phil passed out job descriptions of the council members
• Phil showed us the website for School Trust Lands - http://www.schoollandtrust.org/
• We watched the video Utah's Education Endowment explaining what trust lands are, where the funds come from, and how schools use the funds.
• We use the money to support the school’s academic needs.
• We looked at the school plan that was approved last school year, which will support this school year.
• Mike suggested that we send out information to the council members in advance of the next meeting.
Kellie Johnson voted to adjourn the meeting at 4:05; Mr. Nestoryak seconded it.
The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 7, 2019, at 3:30 p.m. in the library.
